Lansing, Michigan native Joan Hunter Holly (1932-1982) was a Science Fiction writer. She was a member of Science Fiction Writers of America, serving as trustee in 1973, treasurer from 1975 to 1979, and south/central regional director from 1979 to 1982. This collection of papers reflects her service in the SFWA with correspondence from her years as the treasurer and regional director. The papers also recount her career as a writer through correspondence, fan letters, story ideas, and drafts of published and unpublished writings.

Joan Hunter Holly was born September 25, 1932 to Arthur Hunter (1888-1958) and Hazel (Trumbo) Holly (1891-1971).
